Ziker Uniforms Righteous Ride™ - 2010 Grand Prize Winner
Ziker Uniforms created its Righteous Ride™ contest in November of 2009. The concept was simply to have fun with our
customers to help promote its brand. The contest involves Ziker Uniforms customers and any of its employees to enter
cool, classic, interesting vehicles each month. Ziker Uniforms Route Service Representatives judge the entrants each
month to determine a monthly winner. The monthly winners become eligible for the Grand Prize which is a paid weekend
including good tickets to the NASCAR Brickyard 400 in Indianapolis each July.
Ziker Uniforms was excited about the 18 entrants it received from November 2009 thru May 2010. The cars, dragsters,
trucks, and racing lawnmower entrants were really interesting. Not only the pictures, but the required story of why
it’s righteous to the owner were awesome.
A May entrant from Jay Mead at Industrial Installation in Mishawaka, IN ended up winning the month of May, and being
the unanimous Grand Prize winner.
When we met Jay and saw his Righteous Ride™ it was no wonder he won the contest. Jay redid this 48 Chevy mostly by
himself over a 10 year period. It has been entered in numerous car shows and won many awards. The incredible detail
of the engine, the body, the interior, and even the trunk are amazing. Jay is an avid classic car enthusiast; he also
has a 29 Chevy he rebuilt. Jay is a longtime member of the local car club, St. Joe Valley Street Rods where he has
learned and shared his amazing skill. The owner of Industrial Installations, Aaron Bobson, remembers when he was growing
up and lived across the street from Jay, “Jay was always working in his garage messing with cars; I didn’t have appreciation
for his talent and skill until later in life. Jay is just a hard working, honest, gentle, and great guy. It’s so cool that
he won the contest, Jay deserves it.”
Jay is just back from his paid weekend to the Brickyard 400 and truly appreciated the prize from Ziker Uniforms. It is an
experience he will remember for a long time. This is Jay’s second trip to the Brickyard. His favorite driver failed to
cross the line first but you can tell from the pictures it didn’t stop Jay from having a great time. Jay said the seats
were amazing! The day was just terrific!
